We invite you to join The Australasian Democratic Education Community and connect with others who are involved with democratic, progressive and alternative education.

 Become a member by filling in our membership form and our Secretary will be in contact to process your membership fee.

If you are working at a school that is an ADEC member, your are automatically a member. We would, however, recommend that you Join our Mailing List (see button below) to make sure your receive any communications directly to your inbox.

Chance to inform government policy, as members are surveyed on their views and represented in submissions to State and Commonwealth Governments.

Regular newsletters, including member school profiles and networking opportunities

Your school or learning centre will be listed on ADEC website.

Be informed about research undertaken in the democratic education field - and contribute to that research.

Help other member schools nationally and internationally (through IDEC) with financial and other support in times of crisis (eg democratic school in Ukraine during war, schools in Nepal during earthquakes, etc)

Conference Event

ADEC acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing connection to land, place, water and community. We pay our respects to their cultures, country and elders past, present and emerging. 

ADEC also recognises the unique role of Māori as Tangata Whenua and embraces Te Triti o Waitangi recognising Māori as Tino rangitiratanga of Aotearoa while embracing the three guiding principles of the Treaty.
